Storfors Hotel is a modern service-oriented hotel in a beautiful historic setting. The building itself is build in the end of 1800, a period when the steel industry was in full bloom. The hotel offered a place to stay in that time for the engineers who helped with the development. The park and the buildings around the hotel feels almost like a museum, the rich history is almost ‘touchable’... Around the hotel is much from the rich past visible. The oldest fire department building (a museum) in Värmland, the oldest (still in operation) hydroelectric power station from Sweden, a former bathhouse, sauna, wash house and a historic water wheel with a heavy press (which was used to make coal), a stately mansion (from the original owner of the big industry) and a special park with ancient trees. Storfors hotel is since late 2006 in the possession of 4 enthusiastic Dutch. They have renovated the rich historical building in style.
