The Bergslagen channels are the largest contiguous system of lakes of Sweden. A paradise for water & nature lovers! At 25 minutes from the hotel is also the largest natural lake in western Europe. With it's very beautiful archipelagos and water full of fish (salmon, pike) is Lake Vänern an attractive area.
The hotel can organize the following activities:
- canoeing
- daytrip on water in the Bergslagen region and / or the lake Vänern on a luxury boat (possibillity for sailing self or accompanied. Sailing self only possible by presentation of certificate and proven suitabillity for sea trials). Ability to sleep on the boat, a Bayliner 222 from 2007!
- daytrip with a motorpowered boat (luxury Norwegian sloop, Crescent Allure 19). Fun for excursions and fishing!. Grilling or picnic on an 'own' desert island! Go by boat through the historic waterlocks.
- fishing/trolling for salmon and pike on the Vänernmeer (guided, incl. boat rental)

Here was where the industrial development began, and where still many impressive buildings and mines tell yheir stories from the past and can be visited.
The Bergslagen region is also the most mineral rich in the world! The museums Kristinehamn, Örebro and Värmland (Karlstad) are very well known and have surprising annual exhibitions. A week through past, present and future. Impressive, humorous and unforgettable!

The most mineral rich soil of the world can be found here and has over time created a spectacular flora and fauna. Specific species have found a home here. Elk, wolf and bear...
We work with a wildlife (-English-speaking) guide who can offer a range of activities. Beavers, wolves, moose, bears, lynx, birds, wildlife (learning of mushrooms, berries etc) .... There is so much to see ...
Nearby the hotel it is possible learn about special dogs, indispensable in the Northern parts of Sweden: huskys (sled dogs). Try it yourself with these energetic animals that can put their power in dragging a cart or sled!

The largest contiguous lakeland area of Sweden and Hotel Storfors is to be found in the centre! A paradise for water and nature lovers! The Bergslagen is an extremely attractive area to explore by water. Numerous alternate lakes, crystal clear waters, magical connection channels, centuries-old locks, many islands with picnic areas, several cities, restaurants and attractions can be visited by boat. Storfors Hotel has several boats available that can be rented. They are modern, luxury boats where a perfects time on water awaits you.
1. Luxury Norwegian sloop (Crescent Allure)
A large boat suitable for 8 persons. The boat has a canopy and a wonderful opportunity for the sun lovers: a big sundeck! This boat has a luxurious appearance, is easily to enter and exit and has lovely soft pillows (also on the sundeck). The boat has an easy swim ladder that makes the boat easily accessible after a dive in the water.
2. American luxury cabin boat (Bayliner 222).
A very luxurious boat suitable for up to 8 people. The boat has among other things a sleeping cabin, kitchen, toilet, fridge, CD player, extra roof if desired, luxury seats (which are easily turned into sofa beds to sleep-sun) and banks, foredeck which can be used for sunbathing, fishing plateau, swim ladder and much more. (Sailing with this boat is only possible with guide or self after presentation of certificate and proven ability, there is an opportunity to sleep on the boat).
